Last Friday of every month For the ultimate reset, pair your session with a sauna and extend the experience into a full-body unwind. * Please note 48 hours notice is required for cancelation as we have limited spaces What is Sound Healing? Sound healing (or sound therapy) uses vibrations—through instruments like singing bowls, gongs, chimes, or tuning forks—to influence the body and mind. The idea is that sound can help restore balance and promote relaxation by interacting with our nervous system and brainwaves. How It Works: The Science Brainwave Entrainment The brain tends to synchronize its electrical activity with external rhythms, a process called entrainment. Slow, soothing sounds (like gongs or crystal bowls) can encourage theta and delta brainwaves, associated with deep relaxation, meditation, and even sleep. Vibrational Effects on the Body Sound waves create vibrations that can physically resonate with tissues and organs. Some studies suggest this resonance can reduce muscle tension, lower blood pressure, and stimulate lymphatic and circulatory flow, contributing to a sense of physical release. Autonomic Nervous System Regulation Sound baths often stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system—the “rest and digest” mode. This can lead to lowered heart rate, reduced cortisol levels (stress hormone), and an overall sense of calm. Psychological & Emotional Benefits Music and sound activate brain areas related to emotion, memory, and reward, releasing feel-good chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. Many participants report decreased anxiety, improved mood, and mental clarity after sound therapy. Emerging Evidence A Finnish study found that sound and music interventions can reduce stress and anxiety in clinical settings. Research on singing bowls shows potential for lowering heart rate and respiratory rate, supporting cardiovascular and mental health.
